Another little gadget which I have the pleasure of reviewing is the Razer Salmosa! One of Razers epic products in the line of gaming mice. It’s surprising how much more effective you can be with the top quality equipment. These mice are designed by gamers for gamers so they can’t go that wrong! What makes the Razer Salmosa stand out amongst the crowd is the "Speed of Light" Tagline which it's been advertised with. So let’s check out how useful this miniature gaming mice really is!
If you have already purchased one of these beauties you probably already know this. But the package comes with the mouse inside, with a sleeve for the installation manuals as well as a driver disc. You also have some other fun stuff like leaflets and stickers but I haven’t yet found a use for them yet. The installation of the device is pretty standard and basic. Place the disc in, you will download the drivers and installed. All done.

The design of the mouse itself is rather basic. Its probably one of the smallest Razer mice's vie ever seen, with light weight features to match it to. Underneath the mouse all of the dpi & MHz settings can be changed. You are limited to only 2 buttons and a roller. But please bear in mind this mouse was designed for the RTS gamer, in which RTS game do you ever use more than those two buttons? The only bad thing about its looks is the fact it’s rather dull. With no visual qualities or lighting it isn’t much to look at. I suppose it has a certain level of elegance but nothing really here that a gamer would go for! Now let’s see what kind of features the drivers give us.

The drivers allows you to change the double click speed as well as the roller ball speed. You can also change your mouse sensitivity, and customise the buttons on the mouse. The mouse has a dpi of 800dpi to 1800dpi and starts from 125 MHz all the way to 1000 MHz. So let’s give it a quick go in a game of Command & Conquer Tiberium Wars see how it fairs. Will this be the mouse to replace my Razer CopperHead?

4 Minutes & 45 Seconds later... ...
Woo! I win, but I’m still upset. Why? Because for the mouse that was designed by gamers for gamers especially "RTS" I didn’t really feel the difference. In fact I did have some issues with it. Maybe I’m not used to change and I love my CopperHead too much. However it did perform well under stress supplying a completely smooth ride while feeling comfortable
The salmosa isn’t a bad mouse, with a price tag of £29.99 it’s a perfect product which provides quality results. Even though it is a little dull to look at the Salmosa gives the user a completely fluent gaming experience especially with map scrolling. With the ability to change the dpi settings you have complete freedom to use this mouse how you want it. But changing the dpi mid game can be quite tricky.
